about

VIDEO CLIP here www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2m_FxFg8k8

A gentle, bell-chiming prayer which builds on a ringing guitar figure and ends by dissolving into the sound of an accordian over the waves, like a life, from beginning to end. Jack The Lantern light me home, aloft on guitar jangles and panchromatic piano resonance, too beautiful to ever return from.

lyrics

Out there between mirages
Out there between shipwrecks
All your sea captains
All your dead men’s chests

Caught in the moment
Carried with the tide
This broken sea
This ocean’s bride

Jack the lantern,
Light me home

A prayer for St Nicholas
A song for the mermaid of Zennor
Raise up that anchor
Raise up that oar

Jack the lantern,
Light me home

And all your harpooned daughters
And all your seasick sailors’ sons
There will be no returning
When Jack Harry’s lights, they come

Jack the lantern,
Light me home
